The Financial Reporting Specialist position is part of the Financial Reporting and Analysis (FRA) team. An integral part of FRA team’s responsibilities is to prepare corporate financial reports in compliance with applicable rules and regulations and for AIR’s business units, management, and board of directors. The FRA team strives to build robust financial reporting practice in order to deliver exceptional customer service and top-notch financial analysis and insights. The selected candidate will work alongside experienced accounting/financial professionals and have opportunities to pursuit mutual, long-term career development goals.

Responsibilities

The essential job functions for the position include but not be limited to the following:
• Assist preparation of annual GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures, including subsidiary-standalone and consolidated financial statements.
• Support month-end and year-end closing.
• Support accounting and financial reporting aspects of AIR's ongoing M&A activities.
• Maintain accounting functions for subsidiary entities and consolidate financial results.
• Assist with annual financial and Uniform Guidance (formerly OMB A-133) audits.
• Prepare schedules for the incurred cost submission to AIR’s Federal Cognizance Agency.
• Participate in IRS Form 990 preparation and state compliance filings.
• Provide regular feedback for process improvement initiatives.
• Research and resolve accounting issues, including evaluation and implementation of new accounting and tax pronouncements.
• Participate in the new revenue recognition standard implementation project.

Qualifications

• BS/BA Accounting.
• 4-7 years of experience in accounting, preferably public accounting experience.
• CPA/CPA candidate strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with preparation of consolidated financial statements and IRS Form 990.
• Experience with consolidation accounting.
• Experience with government contracting organizations.
• Experience with Deltek-Costpoint strongly preferred.
• Ability to work with deadlines and handle competing priorities.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills.
• Exceptional research, analytical and problem solving abilities.
