AIR’s Research and Evaluation area is seeking a Technical Assistance Associate to join our team in Austin, TX.

The Technical Assistance Associate will provide high quality, collaborative technical assistance and consulting to Texas Education Agency, with a specific emphasis on teacher recruitment and teacher preparation. This work entails research synthesis, group facilitation, building relationships with a variety of stakeholders, providing training, technical writing, and working as part of a team to developing strategic solutions to pressing issues of educator quality. We seek applicants passionate about working as part of a team to implement research-based solutions to improve educational outcomes.

Responsibilities

Identifies and synthesizes research/literature on educator recruitment and preparation programs
Writes implementation guides, tutorials, guidebooks, and other materials for policy makers and practitioners
Develops strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders
Coordinates learning events and opportunities for education leaders, both large and small scale

Qualifications

Master's degree or Bachelor's degree and typically 3 years of relevant work experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Adult learning expertise
Project management experience
Experience working in a state education agency, local education agency, or as a teacher or leader in a school setting is preferred
Experience working in Texas or rural schools preferred but not required
Strong organizational skills
Strong execution skills
Effective presentation skills
