Overview

The Assessment Program at AIR is a well-regarded organization that is growing rapidly. Our environment is fast-paced and requires people at all levels who are willing to get the work done on time while maintaining high quality. We are seeking an Editorial Associate to work onsite at the Test Development Center in Tallahassee, FL.

Responsibilities

The Editorial Associate will: a) edit materials for content, such as items, tests, reports, training materials, administration manuals, brochures, scripts, or on-screen presentations; (b) develop, analyze, and select appropriate information to present in a form and at a level suitable for the intended audience; (c) review written products and materials for conformity with standards of objectivity, style, and presentation; and, (d) perform a variety of editorial duties related to editorial production.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or other related field and a minimum of two years of editing experience in a professional publishing environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate an exceptional command of the English language, with strong listening, writing, and oral communication skills. Expertise and experience in creating, revising, and editing a wide variety of documents (from official correspondence and online content to technical reports and K-12 testing materials) is desirable. Familiarity with educational terminology and assessment formats is preferred. Must have a thorough knowledge of standard proofreading symbols. Must be proficient in Word with experience using Track Changes features. Experience with PowerPoint and Excel are preferred.
