Workforce Development: Principal Technical Assistance Consultant

AIR is currently seeking a Senior Technical Assistance (TA) Consultant who will be the overall director and administrative officer for a contract with the National Office of Job Corps and will provide conceptual leadership, direction, and mentorship to ensure the work is performed in accordance with the contract and established budget and timeframes.
• Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, replicating, disseminating, and evaluating evidence-based innovations to improve achievement and attainment for all Job Corps students • Oversees the planning, design, implementation, and support of innovative programs and systems aligned with Job Corps program objectives • Identifies and recommends electronic educational technology applications and systems required to support Job Corps program objectives • Provides planning, direction and evaluation of project tasks to ensure milestones and deliverables for the project work plan are met • Ensure compliance with financial, contractual, reporting, and quality assurance requirements • Serves as liaison with the National Office of Job Corps • Act as a thought leader and collaborate with stakeholders / clients
• PhD preferred or Master’s Degree in Education or related field • Minimum 10 years of experience providing oversight and administration of multi-million dollar projects in an education setting required • Knowledge of the Job Corps system and experience with the Job Corps is preferred • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction in a K-12 setting and experience in working with postsecondary education providers and low-income/disadvantaged students • National reputation for expertise in education and workforce-related topics such as rigorous academic standards and assessments, career pathway planning and programming, college and career readiness, and others as evidenced through publications, presentations, award of contracts and grants, and overall body of work • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and manage collaborative, interdisciplinary teams, including ability to provide guidance and feedback to staff and subcontractors • Proven ability to develop staff capacity in project design and implementation, project management, client relationships, publication, and business development • Collaborative leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills at a senior level • Commitment to AIR’s Mission and the application of evidence for the benefit of stakeholders
