Statistician for American Institutes for Research (AIR) to work at Washington DC location.
Coordinate activities of institutions, subcontractors, and consultants to manage complex projects. Literature review, research design, interpret results. Design data display and present results (psychometric and statistical methods and findings) tailored to technical and non-technical audiences. Manage schedule and budgets. Develop data analysis plans and programs. Collaborate. Lead research proposals and funding applications. Write scientific and technical reports and manuscripts. Statistical analyses, including of large-scale data sets. Do technical reviews, including of draft products (reports, data files, web sites, etc) to ensure statistical standards. Assist with other development activities including preparing capability statements and research opportunities. Use relevant psychometric and statistical software. Little domestic travel may be involved. May undergo background checks. Requires communication skills.
Must have a Masters in Quantitative Psychology, Sociology, Biostatistics, Applied Statistics or related field, and 3 years relevant experience in education statistical research to include required skills; or a PhD in Quantitative Psychology, Sociology, Biostatistics, Applied Statistics or related field, and required skills. Requires skills (2 years experience) in: SAS, R, and MPlus programming; statistical software (SAS, STATA, R, PARSCALE, BILOG, MULTILOG, MPLUS, LISREL); classical and modern (IRT, Rausch) psychometrics; multivariate statistics analysis, and research designs, of observational, experimental, and quasi- experimental data; and lead.
