    The Center for ELLs at AIR is seeking a Senior Researcher to provide management of mixed-methods evaluation projects, with a specific emphasis on projects focused on ELL-related policies and practices.

    Responsibilities

    • Apply appropriate techniques to collect, analyze and report quantitative and qualitative data
    • Write policy briefs and evaluation reports which may be focused on English language learners
    • Manage projects and staff including lead projects for the Center for ELLs at AIR, interact with clients, and supervise and support project team members
    • Mentor staff, share approaches to solving concrete problems, and provide feedback on the work of others
    • Engage in business development activities for the Center for ELLs at AIR including identifying opportunities and strategic partnerships, cultivating relationships with existing and potential new clients, writing proposals, and developing budgets

    Qualifications

    • Doctorate in Education or related fields with some focus on the development of language and content area knowledge in ELLs and educational policies and practices related to ELLs
    • Minimum 3 years experience leading studies related to education policies and programming with some focus on ELLs
    • Knowledge about K-12 ELL federal and state policies and ELL instructional programming
    • Knowledge of methodology used to collect, analyze, and report quantitative and qualitative data
    • Ability to conduct secondary analyses of extant data
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to produce concise, high-level briefings or reports *LI-AS1
