American Institutes for Research (“AIR”) Assessment provides assessment services and technical assistance to school systems nationwide.

    We are currently seeking a Test Developer to join our Operations team in Washington, DC.

    Responsibilities

    The ELA Test Developer will lead state assessment projects and tasks that include the development and management of ELA Assessment programs. Responsibilities include:

    • Managing the review, revision, and delivery of ELA test items and ensuring item quality;
    • Leading a team and providing professional development and support for all team members;
    • Leading internal and external meetings with AIR review teams and clients;
    • Collaborating with AIR technical and operations staff; and
    • Developing work management plans.

    Qualifications

    • Qualified applicants will hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field.
    • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience teaching ELA and/or managing ELA item development functions within an education assessment environment.
    • Strong knowledge and experience with the U.S. Education and Education Assessment system is required.
