    AIR is expanding and seeks a Business Development Director for Human Capital Solutions with background in I/O psychology to lead expansion efforts into federal and commercial markets. The position is part of the Workforce Development and Human Capital Solutions (WDHCS) practice area at AIR, the mission of which is to help employers find, manage, and grow the talent they need, and help workers find and thrive in rewarding jobs. This position seeks a lead to expand and manage the Human Capital Solutions arm of the practice area.

    This position will be located in one of our major offices: Washington D.C., Chicago, or San Mateo with preference to Washington D.C.

    Responsibilities

    The Business Development Director will have proven successes in putting together winning proposals and project teams in the areas of human capital, change management, assessment development, job analysis and/or competency modeling, and possesses extensive experience working with federal agencies, professional associations, and other clients.

    • Serves as business development lead to grow the Human Capital Solutions portfolio, developing and executing business development strategy
    • Leads client relations/development and capture planning for Human Capital Solutions
    • Oversees proposal efforts for large projects including technical and cost components
    • Directs and manages complex, large projects and oversees the planning, design, and implementation of project protocols, assessments, instruments, and procedures
    • Reviews, analyzes, and synthesizes information to ensure that Human Capital Solutions projects are conducted with sound practices and techniques
    • Maintains excellent business development relationships and serves as primary client contact for Human Capital Solutions projects
    • Manages senior level employees and helps oversee the execution of Human Capital Solutions project work
    • Coordinates with the WDHCS Practice Area Director to manage resources, identify and recruit for staffing needs, and provide regular updates to and coordinate with AIR senior management
    • Collaborates with other AIR practice areas with content/sector expertise (e.g., health systems, youth services) to conduct project work and pursue new clients

    Qualifications

    Successful candidates will have:
    • Expertise in Human Capital and Training Solutions services such as job analysis and competency modeling, recruitment and selection, talent management, performance management, training and professional development, credentialing, human factors usability, change management, assessment, and program evaluation
    • PHD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology or related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience managing and/or conducting research or related work
    • Must possess strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills at a managing level
    • Extensive success in writing, conceptualizing, analyzing, and consulting at a managing level
    • 10 + years project management experience
    • Experience with government federal agencies, including the Department of Defense, is a plus
    • Strong track record of academic or professional publication required
