We are seeking a Research Associate for our Washington, DC office to provide substantive support to research and evaluation projects, likely bridging both workforce and education-related projects. Responsibilities likely to include project administration tasks, collecting data, conducting analyses, writing documents.
• Assist in the design and planning of qualitative and quantitative data collection instruments including interview protocols, focus group protocols and surveys. • Clean, code, and analyze data from surveys, interviews, observations and extant data using the appropriate statistical approaches and software (e.g. STATA, R, SPSS). • Prepare documents, portions of reports, briefs, charts, and graphs that describe and interpret findings of analyses. • Clearly communicate knowledge of the project purpose and objectives to clients when necessary and represent AIR in a professional manner. • Communicate effectively, orally or in writing, with clients, site-based staff, and other evaluation stakeholders.
o Master’s degree in Education or Social Sciences (Economics, Psychology, Public Policy, Sociology, etc.) with at least 2 years of related experience with the following: o Experience and/or training in research and evaluation, including data collection, analysis, and reporting o Knowledge of various analytic and data management software (STATA, R, SPSS) o Ability to work independently, and as a member of a team o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail o Clear written and oral communication skills #LI-EN1
