American Institutes for Research (“AIR”) Assessment provides assessment services and technical assistance to school systems nationwide.

    We are currently seeking a Senior Project Coordinator to join our team in Washington, DC.


    The Senior Project Coordinator will support assessment projects for students with significant cognitive disabilities across a variety of state assessment programs.

    • Working with project management to ensure all deliverables are developed, edited and delivered within project deadlines and established standards; including, but not limited to:
    - creating and maintaining project calendars.
    - maintaining and distributing agendas, issues logs/tracking documents, and other project management artifacts
    - taking official meeting minutes
    - Coordinating logistics for meetings, conferences, cross-program initiatives, and training sessions
    - Providing information to client and respond to client requests within area of responsibility
    • Conducting quality control of print and online test materials, including verification of test booklet content and layout.
    • Developing help documents, FAQs, system administration manuals, and other support materials for educators, and ensure their timely delivery.
    • Becoming the information expert on the online testing system’s functionality and features.
    • Conducting and coordinating user acceptance testing to include preparing initial communications, organizing feedback, and tracking resolution.
    • Monitoring subcontractor deadlines and providing quality assurance of all subcontractor deliverables
    • Liaising with the Help Desk and subcontractors to coordinate responses to state education and school officials.


    • Bachelor’s degree required; additional education preferred
    • 3-5 years of experience relevant experience
    • PMP Certification preferred
    • Experience working in the educational community preferred
    • Ability to work additional hours to meet client deliverables is required
    • Acute attention to detail is required
    • Proofreading experience is required
    • High level of organization and the ability to manage and prioritize several tasks/projects simultaneously is required.
    • Excellent technical and analytical/problem solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently on detailed assignments
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Positive attitude and a strong customer service focus.
    • Motivated and demonstrates initiative.
    • Flexibility and ability to consistently meet deadlines
    • Ability to travel (10-20% of the time)
    • Experience with MS Office applications
