Overview

AIR is currently seeking a Principal Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Researcher to join our Workforce Development Program Area within AIR’s Human Services Division to lead a project that is responsible for the development of the MCAT exam along with business development efforts in the human capital and assessment domain. The ideal candidate will have proven successes in client and project management, the leadership of teams, and business development. Candidates must possess extensive experience working in a lead role on high-stakes assessment development projects. Business development responsibilities will include identifying new opportunities, leading capture efforts, and putting together winning proposals and teams in the areas of human capital and training.

 

This position has the flexibility of be remote within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the position include:

  • Serve as a project director and client relationship manager on a high visibility and high-stakes test development project.
  • Serve as a leader in team and staff development.
  • Conceptualize research studies and applied human capital and/or assessment projects.
  • Direct and manage complex components of large projects and oversee the planning, design, and implementation of project protocols, instruments, and procedures.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with current and potential clients and partners.
  • Identify and pursue new market offerings related to high stakes testing and assessment.
  • Review, analyze, and synthesize information using appropriate practices and techniques and/or ensures all projects are conducted with sound practices and techniques.
  • Serve as industry expert and contributes ideas and information to support project efforts through the publication of papers and delivery of presentations.
  • Travel on a limited basis, as needed.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology, psychometrics, educational measurement or related field with a minimum 11 years of relevant work experience managing and research or related work or Doctoral Degree in industrial and organizational psychology, psychometrics, educational measurement or related field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience managing and research or related work.
  • Minimum of 10 years project management experience.
  • A track record of successful client and project management.
  • Expertise in human capital and training solutions services, with an emphasis on selection and assessment.

 Skills:

  • Must possess strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills at a managing level.
  • Extensive success in writing, conceptualizing, analyzing, and consulting at a managing level.
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis, as needed.
  • Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the workplace.
  • Comfortable working across a virtual/dispersed work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when writing.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position. Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.

AIR’s Total Rewards Program, is designed to reward our staff competitively and motivate them to achieve our critical mission. This position offers an anticipated annual salary of $160,000 - $180,000. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the annual salary range for candidates that are based in the United States.
