The American Institutes for Research (AIR) is a leading professional services firm with a growing software engineering and product development team. We design and build things that are inspiring and make a real impact in the online testing industry. We are currently seeking a Software QA Analyst I to join our team in Washington, D.C.


• Provide accurate and timely logging of issues to the bug logging system.
• Accurately report findings to the Lead and Manager for all the assigned tasks.
• Interact with internal users to obtain and convey concise problem information in a professional manner by phone, email, and in person.
• Validate data and reports using SQL and other tools.


• Proficient in SQL including: relational database understanding, ability to write complex SQL queries, ability to understand queries and stored procedures.
• Two - four years of proven manual software testing experience in a functional QA team.
• Experience in performing White Box testing and Black Box testing of web applications in GUI and Data Layer.
• Prior experience working/manipulating/parsing data files.
• Experience in cross browsers/cross platforms is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to prioritize multiple workloads and deliver timely results.
• Ability to work in a team setting.
• Superior attention to details.
• Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills and a logic-based approach to problem solving.
• Bachelor’s degree.

*Must be available to work a flexible schedule as needed (sometimes on short notice), including late evenings and weekends. Workload may be heavy at times.
