We are seeking a quantitative Researcher to work on research and evaluation projects, with a specific emphasis on projects focused on EL-related policies and practices. The Center for ELs project work includes: - Conducting rigorous evaluations of programs and policies for EL students, applying a breadth of experimental and quasi-experimental research designs. - Focusing on research studies of instruction in order to determine what works best for ELs. - Providing evidence-based recommendations for policymakers and practitioners, bringing the appropriate research expertise to meet the specific needs of a given set of stakeholders. AIR is seeking a Researcher to work in the Center and with other AIR colleagues. The successful candidate will be affiliated with an AIR office or work remotely.

The candidate will have a broad range of TA experience across one or more systems, such as health, social services, and education, to help build the capacity of organizations and systems serving highly traumatized populations to adopt a trauma-informed approach to care. The candidate should understand the clinical, operational, and workforce changes necessary to effect organizational change across schools, organizations, state agencies, state-wide coalitions, and multi-agency collaboratives.

The American Institutes for Research (AIR) is seeking to hire a senior leader experienced in business development and project management, with expertise in substance use disorders and in evidence-based practices to address the disorders. The candidate will lead AIR’s Center for Addiction Research and Effective Solutions (CARES) and work with AIR staff in building new work that fulfills AIR’s mission to generate and use rigorous evidence that contributes to a better, more equitable world. The candidate will develop and execute a business strategy that builds on AIR’s existing work in the following areas: health professional education, training and technical assistance; practice guidelines and evidence standards; patient and family engagement; and data interpretation and public health strategy. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting federal, state, and/or local agencies to implement and assess practices and policies that involve multi-system programs including healthcare, public health, criminal justice and human services.   Established in 1946, AIR is one of the world's largest behavioral and social science research and evaluation organizations. Our mission is to generate and use rigorous evidence that contributes to a better, more equitable world.  AIR works with federal, state, and local government agencies, philanthropies and other organizations to conduct research and evaluation and provide technical assistance in the areas of education, health and workforce development, in the U.S. and abroad.   AIR is seeking a Regional Communications Specialist to support the USAID Latin America and Caribbean Reads Capacity Program (LRCP).  The purpose of this program is to increase the impact, scale, and sustainability of early grade literacy (EGL) interventions in the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region through the development of state-of-the-art knowledge resources and the provision of technical assistance to host country governments, and other selected key stakeholders, to enhance their efforts to boost EGL outcomes, particularly for disadvantaged children. The program is implemented by AIR in association with Juárez & Associates (J&A). Working in collaboration with USAID’s bilateral missions, the program facilitates stakeholder understanding and application of evidence-based, context appropriate approaches to improving early grade literacy. The LRCP began in 2014 and will continue through 2020. Currently the program focuses on Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and the regional RedLEI network based in Guatemala but covering: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic. LAC Reads Capacity Program goals are achieved through the implementation of four main results listed below although during these final two years of the program the focus will be on Results 3 and 4: - Result 1: Evidence on early grade reading collected, consolidated and systematized for practical use by LAC region stakeholders. - Result 2: Up-to-date knowledge about early-grade reading actively disseminated to targeted audiences and stakeholders. - Result 3: Institutional capacity to implement proven approaches for improving early-grade reading outcomes for poor and disadvantaged children is expanded. - Result 4: Sustainable platforms are in place through which efforts to improve early grade reading in priority LAC countries will be continued and strengthened.
